I earned my M.A. in 2009 as a graduate of the University of San Francisco‘s Counseling Psychology Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I have been working for 16 years in private practice. I have also worked as a therapist for Sacramento County Mental Health as a clinician along with working in a private psychiatric facility handling intakes for individuals in crisis. I performed assessments for suicidality, drug and alcohol abuse, bipolar disorder and anxiety among other psychiatric illnesses. My role was to very quickly assess and identify what was going on with each person so that they can get the best help possible.
Often, I interface with their families in the intake process as well. In the past, I worked with children and their families in a variety of settings including as an on-site school counselor dealing with family, peer, and bullying issues. I have also worked in group home settings with developmentally delayed children and adolescents in crisis. Helping people through counseling and psychotherapy is my passion.
Please remember…
if you are looking for counseling services, ask if the therapist is licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Many therapists are allowed to practice as interns, and they may not have the expertise you are requiring for your issues. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a graduate degree and 3000 hours of training and years of practice post licensing.
